FOUR ISLAND OCEAN RACE
Sunday 30th January 2011, with first start at 10am and staggered starts thereafter
Run in-conjunction with Encounter Paddling and the Victor Harbor Goolwa Sea Rescue Squadron
Register of an intent to participate in this event can be made at – REGISTRATION
Registration will be open early and there will be staff at the launch site from about 7.00am
Registration and briefing will be conducted on the beach in front of the Whalers Inn Resort
As the tide will be falling just before race start the best place to launch will be via the boat ramp launching facility
The start line will then be in a buoyed area on the lee side of the Bluff
The course is expected to progress to the south side of Wright Island then through a buoyed gate between Seal Rocks and Granite Island before proceeding between Pullen Island and Commodore Point.
The Finish line will be within the safe confines of Horseshoe Bay
A short course option of apx 6km will be advised on the morning at briefing
All SA Ocean Racing, rules apply.
NB Ð In addition to a high vis paddling top a compliant pfd must be worn by all paddlers on the day
A small number of pfds will be available to loan on the day if you do not possess one or forget
Point from this race will count towards series leader board for the South Australian Ocean Paddling Series.
This year Categories are opened up to include:
Sea Kayak Outrigger, Open Class, Male and Female
Light Plastic Surf Ski, Similar to the Spirit PRS Racing Skis and Finn Endorfinn Molokai Race Skis.
Included in the prize Divisions is the overall Handicap winner (points from all events to the most improved paddler).

FLEURIEU FUN RUN
For those not paddling in the Ocean Race there is also a Fun Run being conducted from the same site on the 30th of January by a local recreation group called FOAM. They are offering a 5km & 10km option and runners should have completed their course just before the paddlers depart.
