At the 2007 AGM the Marathon Canoe Club of SA agreed to remove all Sea Kayak classes from Marathon Canoe Club sanctioned events effective from 1st January 2008 an instead instate the following recreational classes;

Recreational Kayak Short Single Ð for kayaks less than 450cm in length.

Recreational Kayak Medium Single Ð for kayaks 450cm to 550cm in
