BACK 2 BACK REPORT

With outstanding support from the Murray Bridge Rowing Club over the entire weekend it is expected the Back to Back weekend will now become a regular event on the states paddling calendar.

Essentially the Back to Back marathons is a preparation event for JuneÕs Riverland paddling marathon where paddlers will complete a 100km or 200km marathon paddle over 3 days. Paddlers completing the 100km distance as normally start around 10am and finish paddling mid afternoon. Whereas the long distance kayakers paddle the full distance of 208km from Berri to Morgan starting at 7am each morning.

The Marathon Canoe Club of South Australia specialises in long distance paddling and competition on predominantly inland, flat water.  The marathon discipline is considered to be any paddle/race longer than 10km. 

The MCC-SA supports a number of marathon races at venues across South Australia including Murray Bridge, West Lakes, Onkaparinga River, Patawalonga and Encounter Lakes as well as a number of races on the River Murray.
